We collected a great deal of experience with file systems, beginning with our activities in the Unix kernel. This experience would later be put to use in the development of our VTL solution where we designed and implemented a parallel high-performance cluster file system. This appliance has now been operating successfully for 14 years.
We have also, through project work, gained in-depth experience with StorNext and GPFS, both parallel file systems in use in the multimedia industry.
Currently we are in the process of evaluating a promising new architecture, the Ceph file system. Here the focus lies in the development of high-availability scalable distributed storage solutions and ObjectStores.
